Shagang’s sales revenue up 30.8% in January

SteelOrbis Shanghai According to the statistics, Jiangsu province based steelmaker Shagang’s January 2006 pig iron, crude steel and finished steel outputs increased 28.52 percent, 42.9 percent and 66.31 percent respectively to 731,300 metric tons, 952,200 metric tons and 891,800 metric tons. Shagang began producing flat products in 2005 with the commissioning of its 6.5 million metric ton capacity flat rolled production line. Nevertheless, the company could not fulfill its hot rolled production target in 2005. However flat steel production of the company reached a high level in January and lifted its total sales revenue 30.79 percent year on year to RMB 3.51 billion ($435 million).
