The Russian steel producer Severstal has announced that its Poland-based subsidiary Severstallat Silesia, a welded pipe producer and steel distributor, has increased its sales volumes by 30 percent year on year in 2010, and plans in 2011 to strengthen its positions in Poland and also to continue expansion in the Czech and Slovakian markets.
Severstallat Silesia began its activity in Poland two and a half years ago, and in the last quarter of 2010 it produced its first 100,000th mt of pipe.
"The presence in the markets of the Baltic countries and Eastern Europe of high value-added products supplied by our sales segment companies Severstallat and Severstallat Silesia is very significant for us. The output of the first 100,000th mt of pipe in Poland it is another confirmation of the development of these assets," reads Severstal's statement.
In 2010, Severstallat Silesia is expected to post more than €70 million in revenue - up 44 percent compared to 2009.
