Severstal's crude steel output up one percent in Q3 from Q2 level

Russian steelmaker Severstal has announced its operational results for the third quarter of the current year. Accordingly, Severstal's crude steel output increased by one percent quarter on quarter to 2.862 million mt in the third quarter.

In the third quarter of the current year, Severstal's Russian Steel division reported a 0.2 percent quarter-on-quarter increase in steel product sales to 2.745 million mt.

During the third quarter, the mining division of the company, Severstal Resources, saw its iron ore sales volume increase by three percent quarter on quarter to 3.88 million mt.

As regards consolidated sales (net of intercompany sales), Severstal stated that in the third quarter its coal sales decreased by 21 percent to 682,500 mt, its iron ore sales increased by 13 percent to 1.557 million mt, and its rolled steel product sales increased by two percent to 2.133 million mt, all compared to the previous quarter.
