Russian steelmaker Severstal has announced that it has won a tender to supply about 100,000 mt of large diameter (LD) pipes for the Ukhta-Torzhok (about 60,000 mt) and Bovanenkovo-Ukhta (about 40,000 mt) pipelines. The pipes are to be manufactured by Izhora Pipe Mill, a part of Severstal's Russian Steel division.

For construction of the Ukhta-Torzhok and Bovanenkovo-Ukhta projects, Izhora Pipe Mill will supply to its key customer Gazprom, the Russian gas monopoly, 1,420 mm diameter pipes made from K65 and K60 grade plates with internal and external anti-corrosion coating, designed for working pressures of 11.8 MPa and 9.8 MPa.
