Severstal receives compensation from Arcelor
Russian steelmaker Severstal reportedly has received €140 million in compensation from Luxemburg-based steel producer Arcelor after its merger proposal was rejected. Monetary compensation to Severstal was envisioned in the merger agreement if more than 50 percent of Arcelor shareholders rejected the offer and the deal was called off.
