The Russian steelmaker Severstal has announced the completion of modernization works at the mill 5000 at its pipe producing subsidiary Izhora Pipe Plant (Izhora).

The mill is scheduled to reach its designed production capacity by 2010.

In 2008, Izhora plans to produce 750,000 metric tons of plates at its mill 5000, while the annual output is set to increase to 850,000 metric tons in 2009 and to be maintained at the same level in 2010.

Severstal invested about $300 million in the reconstruction of the mill 5000.
