Indian steelmaker Steel Authority of India Limited’s (SAIL) Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP) has received fresh orders for 10,000 mt of special quality steel plates from the UAE, a company statement said on Tuesday, February 28.
The company said that production for the export order complying with American and European standard specifications will start immediately, for shipment in March.
The export order is the second from the UAE as BSP is close to executing a 10,000 mt special quality steel plate shipment scheduled within the next few days, the company said.
It said that the dual certification of Grades BS 10025 JR-AR and A 572 Gr.50 Type 3 had been done for the first time at BSP’s plate mill. Step-by-step monitoring, along with support from the plant’s quality department, has resulted in successful and timely execution of the export orders. The steel for the export grades was made for the first time at BSP with the addition of boron in a restricted quantity and of titanium, in compliance with National Export Tax norms.
In the current year, BSP will complete export orders totalling 34,000 mt of special quality steel plates to West Asian countries.
