Russia’s ferrous metal exports down nine percent in 2011

According to the State Statistics Committee of Russia (Russtat), in 2011 Russia's ferrous metal exports decreased by nine percent year on year to 35.35 million mt, including 4.25 million mt of pig iron, up 9.1 percent year on year. The total value of Russia's ferrous metal exports in 2011 was $22 billion.

Meanwhile, in the given year Russia registered a 16.2 percent increase year on year in its ferrous metal imports to 5.8 million mt, with a total value of $6.3 billion.
