Rio Tinto to continue its operations amid coronavirus outbreak

Australian iron ore giant Rio Tinto has announced that it will continue to supply products to its customers in order to be able to meet demand in this challenging period defined by the coronavirus outbreak, giving priority to the health and safety of all its employees and communities.

The company stated that it has taken comprehensive measures in compliance with all requirements identified by the government in order to protect the health of its employees and contractors against the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.

Rio Tinto is committed to giving a further $25 million to support global organizations in the struggle against the coronavirus outbreak. As a result, the company’s total voluntary global community donations planned for 2020 are estimated at almost $60 million.
