Rio Tinto appoints former Barclays CEO as non-executive director

On July 7, Australian miner Rio Tinto announced that former Barclays Bank CEO John Valley will become a non-executive director of Rio Tinto as of September 1 this year.
 
Mr. Valley was CEO of Barclays Bank in the 2004-2010 period. He joined Barclays in 1982, going on to hold various posts at the bank. He is a member of the Monetary Authority of Singapore's international advisory panel.
