Rig counts slip in the US but rise in Canada

Baker Hughes reported Friday that for the week ending November 30, the US rig count fell by six to 1,811, following an eight-rig increase a week ago. Year-on-year, the US rig count was down 182 rigs. Rigs drilling for oil totaled 1,386 and 424 were searching for gas.

Canada's rig count increased by 12 to 399, but is still down 182 on a year-on-year basis.
