Pakistan's iron and steel scrap imports down 15% in September from August

Pakistan's iron and steel scrap imports amounted to 331,917 mt in September this year, decreasing by 15 percent compared to August and down 18.9 percent year on year, according to the data released by the Pakistan Federal Bureau of Statistics (PFBS). The value of these imports in September was $119.29 million, declining by 17.8 percent month on month and up 1.04 year on year.

Meanwhile, Pakistan's iron and steel imports in September amounted to 259,138 mt, down 3.9 percent on year-on-year basis and declining by 24.9 percent compared to the previous month. In September this year, the value of Pakistan's iron and steel imports was $176.18 million, decreasing by 2.5 percent year on year and down by 18 percent month on month.
