Pakistan's iron and steel scrap imports up 10.3% in May from April

Pakistan's iron and steel scrap imports amounted to 447,051 mt in May this year, increasing by 10.3 percent compared to April and down 5.8 percent year on year, according to the data released by the Pakistan Federal Bureau of Statistics (PFBS). The value of these imports in May was $151.02 million, increasing by 7.5 percent month on month and up 18.6 year on year.

Meanwhile, Pakistan's iron and steel imports in May amounted to 293,600 mt, down 15.8 percent on year-on-year basis and falling by 13.08 percent compared to the previous month. In May this year, the value of Pakistan's iron and steel imports was $190.73 million, decreasing by 11.7 percent year on year and down 12 percent month on month.
