Pakistan's iron and steel scrap imports up 1.9% in Jan from Dec

Pakistan's iron and steel scrap imports amounted to 381,045 mt in January this year, increasing by 1.9 percent compared to December and declining by 5.1 percent year on year, according to the data released by the Pakistan Federal Bureau of Statistics (PFBS). The value of these imports in January was $147.24 million, rising by 1.3 percent month on month and by 13 percent year on year.

Meanwhile, Pakistan's iron and steel imports in January amounted to 155,042 mt, down 45 percent on year-on-year basis and by 13.6 percent compared to the previous month. In January this year, the value of Pakistan's iron and steel imports was $103.59 million, falling by 47 percent year on year and by 16.5 percent month on month.
