Pakistan's iron and steel scrap imports up 18.7% in July from June

Pakistan's iron and steel scrap imports amounted to 417,395 mt in July this year, increasing by 18.7 percent compared to June and down 16.5 percent year on year, according to the data released by the Pakistan Federal Bureau of Statistics (PFBS). The value of these imports in July was $147.75 million, rising by 16.3 percent month on month and up 3.4 year on year.

Meanwhile, Pakistan's iron and steel imports in July amounted to 298,988 mt, up 9.1 percent on year-on-year basis and declining by 0.7 percent compared to the previous month. In July this year, the value of Pakistan's iron and steel imports was $182.67 million, decreasing by 4.7 percent year on year and down by 3.9 percent month on month.
