The Russian steel and pipe producer United Metallurgical Company (OMK) plans in 2010 to increase its pipe product deliveries to 2.24 million mt compared to 1.677 million mt shipped in 2009, OMK-Stal's sales manager Leonid Voronin said at the third annual Regional Metal and Steel Trading conference held in St. Petersburg on February 11-12.
Accordingly, in the near future OMK plans to enter new markets, and for this reason the company aims to master the production of new types of products, including large steel sections of up to 300 x 300 mm, medium diameter welded pipes with thicker walls, pipes resistant to hydrosulphuric cracking, railway wheels that meet the new requirements of Russian Railways, and new types of spring products for foreign carmakers which have production sites in Russia.
