OMK issues Jan-Oct production data for subsidiaries

The Russian pipe producing company United Metallurgical Company (OMK) has announced the production results for the first ten months of 2008 of its subsidiaries; Urals area-based Chusovoy Steel Works (Chusovoy), Nizhni Novgorod-based pipe producer Vyksa Steel Works (Vyksa), and Perm region-based Gubakha Coke.

During the given period, Chusovoy recorded a three percent decrease in its finished steel output to 363,200 mt, and 1.46 percent rise in its crude steel production to 430,000 mt, both compared to the same period of last year.

Vyksa's production of pipes during the first ten months of 2008 amounted to 1.216 million mt, including 615,833 mt of large diameter pipes.

During the period in question, Gubakha Coke produced 446,100 mt of coke, recording an increase of 1.9 percent compared with the same period last year.
