Nucor Steel Memphis will invest $10 million for special bar quality production equipment and a 23,000-square-foot-facility to house it, the company said Thursday.
Nucor purchased heat-treating equipment from Conroe, Texas-based Energy Alloys.
“The new heat treat facility will improve the quality and properties of heat-treated steel we currently produce for our customers,” said Dave Smith, vice president and general manager of Nucor Steel Memphis, in a prepared statement.
