The company recently purchased a 12-acre site in Osceola County Florida from Avatar Properties Inc. for $960,800. The company told the press that it will use the land to build a 2,000 square foot office this spring, as well as an outdoor storage area for steel bar products shipped from the company's bar manufacturing sites such as Birmingham, Darlington, and Jackson. The 12-acre site is part of the 1,545-acre Poinciana Office & Industrial Park. Osceola County is located in central Florida. Its largest city is Kissimmee. Nucor is one of the leading steel producers in the US, with over 20 manufacturing sites and 11 bar mills in the US.
