Canadian steel service center holding company, Novamerican Steel Inc. (owner of Canadian operation Nova Steel Group and American operation American Steel and Aluminum Corporation), announced on Wednesday that it will spend $33.5 million on the installation of a pipe finishing facility at its Pennsylvania tube operation location, and also that it will add a temper mill to a new location in Ontario. The new pipe finishing operation, scheduled for completion in late 2007, will cost $8.5 million, and will add 50,000 net tons of finished pipe capacity to the company's existing structural tube mill. Novamerican will spend $25 million on the new temper mill, located in Stoney Creek, Ontario, with completion also slated for late 2007. Novamerican operates 12 different steel service locations in Central Canada, 10 locations in the Northeastern and Mid-Atlantic United States and one operation in the Mid-West.
