On April 2, Novosibirsk Metallurgical Works named after Kuzmin (NMZK), a subsidiary of the Russian steel producer ESTAR Holding (ESTAR) currently under the control of Russia's largest metal trader Metallservis Group (Metallservis), commissioned its electric welding pipe mill 10-14.

As SteelOrbis previously reported, NMZK's electric welding pipe mill 10-14 is focused on the production of round pipes of 16-51 mm diameter under Russian standard GOST-10704, as well as on the production of shaped pipes under standards GOST-8639 and GOST-8645, of sizes from 15 x 15 mm to 40 х 25 mm with wall thickness from 1.2 mm to 2.0 mm. The pipes will be produced from hot rolled and cold rolled strips.

"NMZK is currently seeing an overall improvement and is ready to increase production. In 2009, the situation at the plant constituted a crisis; at the beginning of the year it stopped operations more than once, and organizational and investment decisions had to be taken as soon as possible to restart production," the governor of Russia's Novosibirsk region Viktor Tolokonsky stated at the mill's commissioning ceremony.

The disassembling of the mill for reconstruction was started in 2008.
