NLMK’s VIZ-Stal sees 12% rise in transformer steel output in 2014

Russian steelmaker Novolipetsk Steel (NLMK) has announced that in 2014 its subsidiary VIZ-Stal, a leading global producer of cold rolled electrical steel and the largest producer of grain-oriented (GO) steel in Russia, increased its transformer steel production by 12 percent year on year to 174,000 mt. In the fourth quarter, VIZ-Stal's transformer steel output rose by 30 percent year on year to 44,800 mt.

In 2014, the company increased its transformer steel sales volumes by 5.2 percent year on year to 171,900 mt, while its transformer steel sales in the fourth quarter alone rise by 19 percent year on year to 44,400 mt.
