NLMK posts three percent growth in 2013 crude steel output

Russian steelmaker Novolipetsk Steel (NLMK) has announced its production and sales data for the fourth quarter and the full year 2013. According to the company statement, NLMK's crude steel output in the fourth quarter increased to 4.06 million mt, up 10.6 percent, while its production of finished steel increased by 4.3 percent to 3.14 million mt, both year on year.

During 2013, NLMK's crude steel output amounted to 15.43 million mt, rising three percent year on year, while the finished steel output was 12.09 million mt, remaining unchanged compared to the previous year.

The total sales volume of steel products of NLMK Group in 2013 decreased by 2.3 percent 14.82 million mt, including around 8.48 million mt of flat steel and 1.67 million mt of long steel products.

NLMK also stated that in the first quarter of the current year, finished steel output is expected to remain stable, while sales grow somewhat on the back of an anticipated improvement in the external and internal market conditions.
