Nippon Steel to increase production in 2005

Japanese steel producer Nippon Steel Corporation (NSC) announced plans to expand its steel production capacity in 2005. The capacity expansion plan aims at meeting strong market demand. In line with the plan, NSC's finished steel production capacity will be increased to 32 million tons by the end of fiscal 2005, which starts in April 2005. The production for the 2004 fiscal year is estimated to be 29.5 million tons.
