In early August (August 1-10) this year, the average price in China of 16-25 mm HRB 400 rebar decreased by RMB 52/mt ($7.3/mt) or 1.5 percent to RMB 3,697.2/mt ($515.6/mt), compared to prices in late July (July 21-31), as announced by China’s National Bureau of Statistics on August 14.
In the given period, the average prices of wire rod, medium plate, seamless steel pipes and angles decreased by 1.3 percent, 0.2 percent, 0.2 percent, and 0.7 percent, though the average price of hot rolled coil (HRC) rose by 0.3 percent, respectively, all compared to late July.
