Moldavian Metallurgical Plant to restart operations soon

Friday, 01 April 2011 17:30:02 (GMT+3)   |
According to media reports, following an eight-month stoppage, on April 6-7 Moldavian Metallurgical Plant (MMZ) is expected to restart operations at its steelmaking shop units and by May-June to operate at full capacity. Earlier this year, the restart of MMZ's production had been expected to take place in February

As SteelOrbis previously reported, the difficult situation at MMZ in 2010 was caused not only by the crisis, but also by the need of the plant to repay preferential credits provided under the Transnistrian authorities' anti-crisis program. MMZ had to repay amounts totaling about $10.6 million.
