MicroSteel’s Paraguayan mill is operating at full capacity, a media report from Mexico’s El Universal said on Wednesday. MicroSteel is a 50/50 JV between PMP Group and India’s Preet Machines Limited.

The mill was originally expected to open in 2016, as anticipated by SteelOrbis, but opened earlier this year. The mill has a 200,000 mt/year capacity to produce rebar, wire rod and angles, the media report said.

Porfirio Gonzalez, director at PMP Group, said MicroSteel Latin America has numerous project proposals for Honduras, Argentina and Colombia. However, he did not describe the nature of ongoing conversations.
