Mexico’s economy secretariat, SE, opened a public consultation for existing cold drawing wires, carbon H and galvanized steel norms.

According to the Mexican government, the PROY-NMX-B-268-CANACERO-2016 norm, which establishes the chemical composition and the hardenability bands through the maximum and minimum limits of hardness of the carbon H steels, will replace the NMX-B-268-CANACERO-2011 norm.

Likewise, the PROY-NMX-B-503-CANACERO-2016 norm, which sets the requisites for carbon steel wires for general use produced through cold drawing, should replace the NMX-B-503-CANACERO-2011 regulation.

Additionally, the PROY-NMX-B-507-CANACERO-2016 norm, which sets the classifications, specifications and test methods for galvanized steel for general use, will replace the LA NMX-B-507-CANACERO-2011 norm.

SE said the consultation is opened for a period of 60 days, counting from December 6, 2016.
