The chamber also reported that for this year, the value of auto parts production is $108.9 billion, 1.2 percent more than in 2022.

In 2022, the world's largest producer of auto parts was China with $498.3 billion, followed by the United States with $179.7 billion and Japan with $171.9 billion. In fifth position is Germany with $89.4 billion. In 2021, Mexico overtook Germany and knocked it out of fourth place in the world.

The auto parts industry employs more than 800,000 workers, 9.0 times more than the vehicle assembly or production industry in Mexico.
