Mexican economy’s secretariat, SE, announced on Tuesday a new norm for high strength, low-alloy columbium-vanadium structural steel.

According to the Mexican government, the regulation NMX-B-284-CANACERO-2017 replaces the former NMX-B-284-1987 norm.

The norm sets the requisites for high-strength low-alloy columbium-vanadium structural steel shapes, plates, sheet piling, and bars for applications in bolted, welded, and riveted structures in bridges and buildings in its three different classes and steel grades.

The norm will be effective 60 days from Tuesday, June 27, 2017.
