Mexican new vehicle sales up 25.7 percent in June

New vehicle sales in Mexico increased 25.7 percent, year-over-year, in June to 113,553 units. It is the 14th consecutive annual increase, according to a SteelOrbis analysis of data from national statistics agency Inegi.

The June sales are the eighth time it has exceeded the 100,000-unit-a-month level in the past 42 months. For the month of June 2023, the volume is the highest in the last 5 years, only surpassed by the 120,298 units of June 2018.

In the accumulated six months, to June, 633,087 units were sold, 22.1 percent or 114,663 more vehicles compared to the first half of last year.

The INEGI information comes from the records of three companies and the Mexican Association of the Automotive Industry (AMIA), which brings together 22 vehicle assemblers
