Mechel establishes Mecheltrans Management

Mechel, one of the leading Russian mining and steel groups, has announced that it has established a new company, Mecheltrans Management, in order to increase efficiency of management of its logistics assets. 

Accordingly, the functions of Mecheltrans Management include the preparation of complex solutions for goods transportation, control of Mechel's plant shipment schedules, as well as the coordination, planning and analysis of the group's transportation subsidiaries' operations, and the development of logistic assets and capital development.

"The establishment of Mecheltrans Management occurred in the framework of the general program for the restructuring of Mechel Group's management system, which was initiated in 2008. The program's implementation will allow better focusing of management operations at each division of the group, thus providing maximum efficiency of operations of all Mechel's subsidiaries," reads the company's statement.
