Maanshan Iron & Steel expands production

According to recent market reports, Chinese steelmaker Maanshan Iron & Steel Co. Ltd. has signed a technical agreement with Germany's SMS Demag to expand its continuous casting line for H beam and No. 2 continuous galvanized line. The projects are expected to complete in two years. After the expansion, the annual production of small and medium H beams will increase by 500'000 tons while the annual production of continuous hot galvanized sheet in thickness between 0.3-2mm and the widths of 900-1.600mm will rise by 350'000 tons.
