St. James Parish, Louisiana will soon be the home of Louisiana Pipe and Steel Fabricators' new $80 million pipe manufacturing facility. Located on the east bank of the Mississippi River, St. James Parish was the site chosen for the new facility, as it has easy river, rail and highway access. Throughout the next year, the company will invest $80 million in its new pipe manufacturing facility, which will consist of 230,000 square feet under roof and will create approximately 470 new permanent jobs when completed. At this time, the company has already hired 40 new employees and is expecting that the main hiring phase will begin in early 2007.
