JSW’s crude steel production up 40 percent in May

JSW Steel, one of the largest Indian steelmakers, has posted a 40 percent year-on-year increase in crude steel production to 1,013,000 mt in May this year. According to the company's statement, in May JSW Steel produced 806,000 mt of flat rolled products, up 57 percent, while its long rolled product output amounted to 168,000 mt, increasing by 13 percent, both compared with the corresponding month of the previous year.

As previously reported by SteelOrbis, JSW Steel's merger with India's JSW Ispat has become effective as of June 1, with the approval of the Supreme Court of India.
