One of the largest Indian steelmakers JSW Steel Ltd has posted a 13 percent year-on-year growth in crude steel production for July.

JSW produced 676,000 mt of crude steel in the given month. During July, JSW Steel produced 485,000 mt of flat rolled products, up 15 percent, while its long rolled product output amounted to 142,000 mt, increasing by 24 percent, both compared to July last year.

According to JSW, the capacity utilization at its Vijayanagar works remained at 75 percent in July this year due to shortage and inferior quality of iron ore used in furnaces.
