JSW Steel, one of the largest Indian steelmakers, produced 1.04 million mt of crude steel in October this year, registering a decline of two percent compared to the same month of the previous year. The lower production was due to the scheduled shutdown of the blast furnace at the Dolvi plant for about seven days during October.

According to the company's statement, in October JSW Steel produced 828,000 mt of flat rolled products, down five percent, while its long rolled product output amounted to 153,000 mt, increasing by three percent, both compared to October 2013.
