Japanese steelmaker JFE Steel Corporation has announced that it will halt two blast furnaces at its West Japan Works due to lower steel demand in both domestic and overseas markets.

Accordingly, blast furnace No.4 at Kurashiki Ward will be shut down at the end of April for repair work and the blast furnace No.4 at Fukuyama will be halted at the end of June.

The company also decided to halt one of its eight blast furnaces at its East Japan Works at the end of March, as SteelOrbis previously reported.
