Japans steel output falls 0.7 percent in January
Japans crude steel production fell 0.7 percent year on year to 9.45 million metric tons in January, the Japan Iron and Steel Federation said. Outputs from converters decreased 2.3 percent to 7.13 million metric tons during the same period. However, output from electric furnaces rose 4.7 percent to 2.33 million metric tons.
