Japan's October steel output up

Japan's crude steel production rose 4.5 percent year on year to 10.12 million metric tons in October, the Japan Iron and Steel Federation has announced. In addition, crude steel output rose 5.3 percent compared to the previous month. For the first ten months of 2006, Japanese crude steel production reached 96.18 million metric tons, up 2.1 percent year on year.
