Japanese crude steel output up 1.5 percent in Sept from Aug

In September this year, Japanese crude steel production was up by 1.5 percent compared to the previous month, while it increased five percent year on year, totaling 9.28 million mt, according to the data released by the Japan Iron and Steel Federation (JISF).
 
Meanwhile, in September this year Japan's pig iron production totaled 6.93 million metric tons, decreasing by three percent compared to the same month last year and up 3.2 percent month on month.

In the January-September period of this year, the country's pig iron output stood at 62.79 million metric tons, rising by 2.4 percent, while its crude steel production came to 82.43 million metric tons, rising by 1.4 percent, both compared to the corresponding period of 2012.
