Russian steelmaker Severstal has announced that its Izhora Pipe Mill (IPM), which specializes in the manufacturing of large-diameter pipes using strips produced by Cherepovets Steel Mill, has completed its shipments of products for the Central Asia-China (CAC) international gas pipeline.

In the January-August period of the current year, IPM shipped more than 50,000 mt of pipes made from high-strength X80 grade steel for the pipeline in question. The pipes were 1,219 mm in diameter with wall thicknesses of 17.5 mm and 20.6 mm and featured external and internal anti-corrosive coatings.

Along with pipe products for the CAC pipeline, in the current year IPM produced hot rolled sheet and large-diameter pipes for major oil and gas projects including the South Stream pipeline and the Strength of Siberia pipeline. Severstal has obtained certification to participate in the tender for the supply of pipes for the offshore section of the South Stream pipeline system.
