Italy’s crude steel output down 12.9 percent in November

According to the figures released by the Italian steel producers association Federacciai, in November this year Italian crude steel output decreased by 12.9 percent year on year to 2.238 million metric tons, constituting the eighth consecutive year-on-year fall in output. The decline in November was the second-biggest year-on-year decrease this year after the 18.7 percent decrease witnessed in August.
 
In the first 11 months of the current year, total Italian crude steel output amounted to 25.513 million mt, down 1.192 million mt or 4.5 percent compared to the same period of 2011 and down 3.44 million mt or 11.9 percent compared to the corresponding period of 2008.
