Iron ore exports via Port Hedland down 12.06% in July from June

In July this year, iron ore shipments from Australia’s Port Hedland increased by 12.06 percent compared to June, but up by 1.50 percent year on year, totaling 44.29 million mt.

According to the information released by Port Hedland Port Authority, in July, iron ore shipments made from Port Hedland to China amounted to 38.61 million mt, decreasing by 8.11 percent compared to the previous month, but up by 1.21 percent year on year. South Korea and Japan followed China in the given month, receiving 2.81 million mt and 1.73 million mt respectively.

Port Hedland handles production from mines owned by BHP Billiton, Atlas Iron and Fortescue Metals Group in the iron ore-rich Pilbara region of Western Australia.
