Iran National Steel Industrial Group (INSIG) produced 930,876 mt of finished products (I-beam, rebar and others) in the first 10 months of the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2009), up about 15 percent compared with 810,690 mt in the corresponding period of last year, according to the newly published statistics from the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO). During the same period, INSIG produced about 201,000 mt of crude steel, showing little change year on year.
INSIG, one of the oldest Iranian rolling mills, is located in the city of Ahwaz in the southwestern Iranian province of Khuzestan, close to the Persian Gulf.
