India’s Saarloha to produce country’s largest round blooms with new caster

German plantmaker SMS Group has announced that it will supply a continuous casting unit to India-based Saarloha Advanced Materials (Saarloha) for the production of the country’s largest round blooms at the latter’s facility in Pune.

The casting unit, which will produce blooms with 500 mm diameter and sizes of 160 mm x 160 mm to 340 mm x 400 mm, is scheduled to be commissioned in July 2024.

The caster will be equipped with state-of-the-art technology for enhanced product quality.
