Heidtman Steel Products, Inc. recently announced its plans to expand its steel processing operations in Butler, Indiana.

Heidtman, one of the nation's largest privately held steel processors and marketers, said it will invest $13.5 million to build a 120,000 square-foot addition to its current manufacturing operations. The expansion will allow the company to upgrade its technology with the addition of a new multi-stamping, blanking, and steel slitting operation.

Through its Heidtman facilities and joint ventures, the company processes nearly five million tons of steel annually with products distributed to industries including automotive, heavy truck, construction, pipe and tube, metal building, appliance, and furniture.
