Handan Steel expands pipeline steel output in January-April

Chinese steelmaker Hebei Iron and Steel Co. has announced that the pipeline steel output of its subsidiary Handan Iron and Steel Co. (Handan Steel) exceeded 130,000 mt in the first four months of the current year, almost half of the pipeline steel output recorded in the whole of last year. In April alone, the pipeline steel output exceeded 46,000 mt, constituting an all-time monthly record.
 
The products in question are in a thickness range of 5.6-18.4 mm and include steel grades L245, X42, X52, X60, X70, X80 and J55.
 
Handan Steel currently supplies its pipeline steel to major projects including China's third west-to-east natural gas transmission project.
