Germany’s industrial output down three percent in December from November

In December last year, seasonally-adjusted industrial production decreased by three percent in Germany compared to the previous month, while the corrected figure for November showed an increase of 0.5 percent compared to October, according to the provisional data of the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis).
 
As compared to November, in December last year production excluding energy and construction decreased by 3.4 percent, while the production of capital goods narrowed by 5.4 percent and output of consumer goods was down by 3.1 percent. Meanwhile, the production of intermediate goods decreased by 1.1 percent, while energy production declined by 0.9 percent and construction output saw a fall of 1.7 percent, all month on month.
