In June this year, Germany's crude steel output increased by 5.8 percent to 3.77 million metric tons compared to the same month of 2014, according to the information provided by the German steel federation Wirtschaftsvereinigung Stahl (WV Stahl). Meanwhile, in the January-June period, the country's crude steel output decreased by 1.5 percent year on year to 22.15 million metric tons.
On the other hand, in May this year, Germany's total hot rolled steel product output amounted to 3.05 million metric tons, indicating a decrease of 5.9 percent, including 2.02 million metric tons of flat steel products - down 4.3 percent, and 1.02 million metric tons of long steel products - down by 8.7 percent, all on year-on-year basis.
Meanwhile, in the first five months of this year, the country's total hot rolled steel product output amounted to 15.91 million metric tons, indicating an increase of 1.5 percent, including 10.36 million metric tons of flat steel products - up 0.2 percent, and 5.52 million metric tons of long steel products - increasing by four percent, all compared to the same period of 2014.
